"the Acid Varsity on Electronic Music and Radio"
- from late 19th century to present.
we aim to build a network of "milestones organs", open hybrid instruments: modular in design, utilising techniques from
Heinrich Hertz to Slammin Vinyl.
These organs will be located in public spaces as musical stations but also will be able to connect to each other
We're actually working on the first prototype which could be based on a trautonium organ.
Drums and bass accompaniment may be based on the TR - TB series from Roland corp.
To gather the equipment we need for this first organ, we're setting up the first "acid varsity"
in partnership with the City of Brussels, The Royal Library, The National Belgian Radio and Television Company RTBF,
the Museum of Musical Instruments and the venue Les Halles de Schaerbeek.
The two main topics are: the Trautonium organ and the digital storage of musical archives from the Royal Library.
As other european cities showed an interest in our project, we'll try to raise funds and gear with different partners
covering many aspects of electronic music history following the principle: different needs, common interests.
We hope to celebrate the 50 years of electronic music in Belgium in 2008 with an exhibition on the Expo 58 World Fair site around the Atomium building.
